The fragility of life…

Life is fragile, like the dew hanging delicately on the grass, crystal drops that will be carried away on the first morning breeze.    From the Book Buddhist Offerings.

I have been blessed with good health, and so even a nasty virus or flu like symptoms stop me in my tracks.

Such a nasty little bug hit me this week.     There I was going about life and doing all the things I take for granted and then bam everything changed…..

Anyone reading this would think that I had been struck down with some serious illness…..when what I have will simply slow  me down for a few days – (probably not a bad idea) and then I will  be back to normal again.

What I am feeling is a sense of deep gratitude.    Gratitude for the years of good health I have enjoyed.    A reminder to never take good health for granted.
