We must let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the one that is waiting for us. Joseph Campbell. (1938-1987)
The following watercolour sequence is about – spontaneity and letting go.
An American mythologist, writer and lecturer, Joseph Campbell’s works cover the elemental aspects of the human experience.
I have enjoyed his books, particularly ‘The Hero’s Journey’
When I need a dose of courage….I read Joseph Campbell.

Thanks for the reminder, Janet. I remember reading his book ‘The Hero with a Thousand Faces’ years back, a fabulous book for anybody (I was going to say for any writer, but… no) but thanks for the reminder. Very true that plans sometimes keep as tied to things that don’t make us happy. And thanks for the gorgeous hummingbirds!
So glad this resonated with you….I am a great fan of Joseph Campbell….have a lovely day.x
Letting go is so important. Great quote to live by, Janet. 🙂

Beautiful paintings!! I, too, am a big fan of Joseph Campbell’s work. On a six hour road trip, I listened to his audio book of “The Power of Myth”. Absolutely fascinating!!
Hi Jen, thank you so much for this comment. I always find something of great value every time I pick up one of his books. Janet
Beatifu humming birds! I really must read his books, I hadn’t heard of him before! Here’s to you finding all the courage you need!xxx
He also coined the term ‘Follow your bliss’ – which I love and try to live by….xxx

You are so welcome, I would like to invite you to take part in the 5 Photo, 5 Story challenge: each day post a photo attaching a story, poem or paragraph ( fiction or non-fiction) and each day invite another blogger to participate. Should you choose not to take part in this I will understand.
Thank you so much for inviting me to do this, but I just did it a week or so ago and so will decline. Hope you are enjoying a lovely weekend. Janet. x
