Happy Independence Day to all my friends in the USA

I took this photograph of my niece, daughter and one of the ‘angel twins’ in front of a mural in Ipswich, Massachusetts.    It’s the perfect image for Independence Day.

Make sure to drink from the sweet nectar of life today, like the magical hummingbird.

A bientôt

Oh, you’re right, Janet! A perfect backdrop for a lovely Independence Day photo. Thanks for the lovely wish and for sharing this. As always, thank you for another beautiful hummingbird. I gave myself a mini holiday (taking leave on Thursday and Friday of last week — plus the holiday today), so I’m savoring each minute of this, my last day away from work.
( AN UPDATE: By the way, I had another short notice interview Friday. It went quite well, but due to a dozen factors, I don’t have much hope for this one. I never heard back from the one that I expected to make an offer…) Mega hummingbird hugs. ❤ 🙂

I have been thinking about you and wondering how the interview went. I don’t believe that you can ever second guess these things….so let’s continue to keep fingers and toes crossed. Something else that I have experienced is that sometimes a situation I have wanted, and didn’t get – leads to other opportunities that I didn’t even know existed. Enjoy every single moment of your long weekend….and as my old Father-in-law used to say….’Keep the faith’:) xxx

I love Ipswich….my niece lives just outside of the town on the water, however, the town is minutes away and the twins go to school there. The whole area is steeped in history. Speaking of which – I have just begun reading ‘Barkskins’ by Annie Proulx..and am loving it….It speaks of the early days when the first European settlers arrived on the great North American Continent….I highly recommend. Hope you have enjoyed a lovely Independence Day holiday…janet:)

Hi Janet, sorry for the late response to your comment. I have been and through Ipswich many times, and it is a beautiful town. Glad that your niece and her family love it.

Oh this I love Janet – how very cool. They actually work right into the mural and into 1700’s, perfect shot! Thanks and love your hummingbird painting.

It was a special day, in that we were having so much fun….and then to come across this mural was icing on the cake…and yes, Kate, Christie and Grace to merge into it:)

I love love loved this photo, Janet. Perfect for Independence Day, and really fun that your loved ones are gathered there in the company of the citizens and revolutionaries. We are, after all, a part of them. I’ve been reading “John Adams” by David McCullough lately, and it is a wonderful biographical and historical look at the immense courage and sacrifice of the founding fathers and the people of that time. I really want to visit Massachusetts now, espec. after seeing this fantastic mural. I think it might be John Adams portrayed in this mural, in front of George Washington’s horse. Great post my friend~~

Thank you, Jet….I will now order ‘John Adams’ – because I love learning about the history of America. New England is one of my favourite places, and Ipswich, Mass is a must visit when you go. It is filled with wonderful old homes and steeped in history. You are so right….the courage and sacrifice exhibited by the early settlers is positively amazing. Janet:)
