There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love.
“When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open hearted vision of people who embrace life.” John Lennon.
watercolour/gouacheAll of life in interconnected. Mother Nature and the Magical Hummingbirds remind us of this as they work together rather than in opposition.
watercolour/gouacheMost cultures teach us that safety is found in separation and disconnection.
If we really believe that what happens in one part of the world doesn’t affect the rest of the world, we are in fact living in denial, convincing ourselves that we are safe.
To rely on disconnection for protection is to rely on falsehood.
watercolour/gouacheMother Nature has given us the perfect example of what happens when we respect the laws of interconnection and also what happens when we don’t……..

You menace others with your deadly fangs but in tormenting them, you are only torturing yourselves.

Thanks Janet, you as well.
Again, wise words that make a damning indictment of the way the world is going. And beautiful artwork as ever to add to my pleasure today – it’s lovely and sunny and really feels as if summer is beginning. xx
Good morning Sarah….Thank you for this comment…my reaction this week has been one of sadness and disgust….because as awful as the weeks events have been, we know it will happen again and again.!!. Yes, the sun is shining at last and it is really lovely. I can only imagine how beautiful it must be where you are and look forward to being with you before the summer is out…..Keep smiling and have a lovely weekend…janet xxx
Superb post, Janet! Especially apt at this time…..in fact, a telling reminder to some eminent ‘politicians’ raving on about separation (exclusion) for security….Wonderful post. Hugs! ❤
Good morning dear Bushka, I find it quite incredible that the ‘powers that be’ can’t see that the more walls we build, the more weapons we give our police don’t keep us safe, but rather cause more friction and horror. We must move forward and do the best we can to bring peace and harmony in our own lives – and on that note, I hope you enjoy a beautiful weekend in the sunshine…:) Janet xxx
Indeed! Sadly….O, so sadly, Our World leaderss (mostly) have become trapped in ‘self-service’….if not self-survival! 😉 Hugs!

Thank you for your comment Janet 🙂
These are breathtaking. Your content has such an inspirational edge. Give us more!
Thank you 🙂
You are so right. Fear is the worst enemy which destroys our peace.
Thank you Janet 🙂
A lovely tribute to the beauty of passion, loving ourselves and fellow humans, and celebrating the world in all its diverse glory. Your paintings here are breathtaking, Janet, and your fearlessness in life, and in creating, stands out. I really like the bird of paradise painting, capturing the aliveness; and the bright yellow and orange hummingbird painting perfectly represents the fire of the hummingbird. But the one that grabs me today is the second one, with the bold flower patch and the hummingbirds, especially the lavender one gracefully and peacefully opening to the heavens. Your artistry is a complete joy.
Thank you dear Jet….I can’t tell you how much I appreciate this lovely comment. It makes my day Janet 🙂
Thank you Janet.
Your post just changed my perspectives towards life.
Thank you for your lovely comment Janet 🙂
Vibrant colors!!
Thank you very much 🙂
Your choose your words wisely, using your paintings to compliment and deliver the action to “stand up and take notice.” Collectively, you quietly ask, is this the road we really want to go down? Beautifully written Janet ~
Thank you again…for your lovely comments….janet 🙂
Truth in every word here 🙂 Being motivated by love is the only way to manifest peace and balance. I have seen many people in my life become motivated by fear; fear for not having enough, fear of not having a good enough job, fear for not being good enough. In all of these cases I feel as if fear will blind you, but love illuminates. Namaste.
Thank you for this lovely comment. May you enjoy a weekend filled with love….Janet 🙂
Janet, I can’t keep up with you–I’m winded trying to–out of breath. One great, wise post after another comes out of you. What fun you must be having with such lovely thoughts in your mind. Thank you.
I feel at last as if I am getting into a real flow of being. The last years have been somewhat fragmented and so I am now enjoying much more time to being creative or as Joseph Campbell would have said…following my bliss 🙂 I have just made announcements to some of my workshop people here in London to say that I will no longer be doing the one/two day workshops, but from now on three or four one week residential workshops per year. Next year, Portugal in April and September and probably one or two in France….this allows me to have whole blocks of uninterrupted time to paint and write….bliss. As always thank you so much for the comment….janet 🙂
Ah, the elusive bliss of uninterrupted time. I know exactly what you mean.
Love it:-)
Thank you very much – Janet 🙂
