The Theory of Everything

There’s something very special about being in a cinema away from all the hustle and bustle of life.

This was the case on Saturday afternoon when I went to see ‘The Theory of Everything’ – based on the life of Professor Stephen Hawking, the English Physicist, cosmologist, author and Director of Research at the Centre of Theoretical Cosmology within the University of Cambridge.

Eddie Redmayne, the English actor who plays the part of Stephen Hawking, is nothing short of brilliant.    He deserves any accolades received.

In the film we view Stephen Hawking as a human being who loves, feels great frustration and pain because of his illness (motor neurone disease) and most importantly it shows the incredible power of the human spirit.

It’s also a portrait of the relationship between Stephen Hawking and his wife Jane Hawking (Felicity Jones), who devoted so much of her life to ensuring that Stephen could continue his work.

The entire cast are superb and as stated earlier, this is a story about the power of the human spirit.

Professor Hawking who has given so much through his work, is also a shining example of what it is to never give up and to live life to the full no matter what our circumstances.
