‘The thing the sixties did was to show us the possibilities and the responsibility that we all had. It wasn’t the answer, it just gave us a glimpse of the possibility’ John Lennon.

Love the picture 🙂
So glad you enjoyed:)
I’ve always loved this picture since I first saw it…..Something very special about it….Hugs! ❤
Good morning and thank you so much…enjoy the day…Janet.xxx
Great quote, Janet. I just love the photo — the plaid dress/jacket combo, the scooter, the smiles! A wonderful image to carry us over the Wednesday hump. Hugs!
So glad you enjoyed…..what a different time that was:)x
A very good quote… and I love the picture.
Thank you dear Shimon.xx
Bushka is right – there is something special about that photo. It and the quote bring back so many memories. As I’m a little younger (!), I wasn’t gadding about like you but as my father was in A Hard Day’s Night and doing episodes of so many ’60s series, I felt there was something special and different about the decade.
Good morning dear Sarah….wow how cool was that to have your father be part of such a classic film – A Hard Day’s Night….I can remember seeing the film in London….and yes there was something very special and fresh about that time…..Janet.x
Oh what fun. You both look so fresh and eager to explore …
It was fun, and I think it’s true to say that Maureen (still a good friend) and I have always been eager to explore the possibilities of life:)
It’s good to have a brave, trusty sidekick!
Fantastic photo Janet!! The quote is perfectly suited to the photo, and the photo is lively and fun. In 1964 there weren’t a lot of women on scooters, I think you two were ahead of your time and ready to zoom forward in more ways than one. 😀
Interestingly, in London at that time, scooters were all the rage….however, you were right, both Maureen and I were always ahead of our time…and our still good friends:)
It was rather cool! The sad thing is that we got a lovely autographed photograph of them which we treasured but which was lost when we moved from Richmond to Datchet! xx
That is such a shame…..you never know it might turn up on Antiques Roadshow…they do sometimes….:)x
🙂
Your photograph is iconic – perfect actually reminded me of gigi. Awesome time, don’t you wonder what John would have thought about today’s events.
I wonder all the time what John would have thought about today’s events…….and yes it was such an awesome time. Thank you, Mary:)
I just LOVE this pic of you! You should paint it!xxx
